Walk into any mid-sized machine shop in Ontario and you'll find the same set of pressures. Engineers buried in low-margin drawing and sourcing work instead of design. Replacement parts bought from OEMs at premiums that have no relationship to what the part costs to make. Long-lead European suppliers quoting in euros and missing committed dates. And somewhere in the background, the quiet awareness that larger competitors have cost structures built on offshore capacity that the firm itself will never build.

That last point is the one that usually goes unaddressed. Building a real engineering and manufacturing arm in India or Southeast Asia takes years, millions in capital, and management attention that mid-sized firms don't have to spare. Most of them simply absorb the cost disadvantage and move on.

We built Maple MPSS to remove that absorption. We run the offshore operation. You get the output.

Every engagement runs across two offices, with a clear division of labour. The Canadian office owns the client relationship, engineering review, and accountability. The India office runs manufacturing, engineering execution, and software development.

The operational effect is straightforward. As a client, you interact with Burlington. A Canadian project manager knows your part, your drawing revision, and your account. Behind that, a larger engineering and manufacturing team is doing the actual work. You don't manage the overseas relationship. We do.

Maple MPSS was founded in early 2024 by a leadership team with more than three decades of operating experience in industrial manufacturing — across CNC machining, engineering, and supply chain — combined with active practice on the AI and software side, building production systems for live operational use.

That combination is the firm's reason for being. Manufacturing experience without modern software gets you a slow, expensive shop. Software ambition without manufacturing experience gets you tools nobody on the floor uses. We sit on both sides on purpose.

The firm is privately held and self-funded. We take a long view on the book of business, and prefer fewer, deeper client relationships to many shallow ones. The operating team flexes with the order book, spanning engineering and manufacturing in Chennai and project management, commercial, and software leadership in Burlington.

A short list of things that are out of scope — because positioning against them matters as much as the services we offer.

• We don't compete with Canadian shops. Our clients are mid-sized Canadian manufacturers, and the domestic supply base is part of how they run. We add offshore capacity where it makes sense — we don't displace it everywhere.
• We don't publish lead-time guarantees we can't hold. Lead time depends on the part, the material, the lot size, and the current shop load. We give you a number for your part, quoted against your drawing. Not a brochure promise.
• We don't publish client names. Several clients have specifically asked that we not. We honour that across the board.
• We don't claim certifications we don't hold. If the work requires specific certifications or standards, we'll tell you honestly what we can and can't do, and won't dress up the answer.
